Listening to the Body During a Cosmic Window

I found myself paying closer attention to the body as we approached an energetically heightened three-day window where Lunar, Solar and Interstellar energies would all converge.

From the New Moon in Sagittarius on December 19 to Interstellar object 3I Atlas flying close to the Earth that same day through the Winter Solstice on the 21st. Whew, a concentration of profound energetic shifts!

A teacher I follow suggested fasting as a possible way to better receive and integrate the incoming upgrades (with the caveat to check in with ourselves). Her guidance leaned toward an extreme approach: no calories and no digestion, creating physical emptiness to receive more light.

I resonated with the intention, not necessarily with the method.

Instead of following this type of prescribed fast (which a former version of me might have done), I chose to listen carefully to my body's cues.

A Gentler Digestive Reset

What I said yes to instead was a short digestive reset adapted to what felt supportive to ME and my individual needs.

The intention wasn’t to push my body. It was curiosity. I wanted to create a little more internal space and notice how my system responded.

My plan was to pause solid foods for 48 hours while continuing to nourish myself with warm, mineral-rich liquids: ceremonial cacao, miso and bone broths, herbal teas, green juice, black coffee, salty lime coconut water and plenty of water.

I also prepared realistically. Since I live with my wife and our dogs who would still be eating normally, that meant being around tempting hot food smells.

This certainly was not a retreat. It was an experiment within my everyday life.

A Loving Mirror

Before the reset took place, my wife questioned me about how I was relating to the guidance that inspired it.

Was I following something simply because it was channeled? Because it came from guides or a "spiritual authority"?

Daniela has a lot of expansive, philosophical Sagittarius in her astrology chart, so truth-telling is part of her nature. She’s often my greatest mirror - the one who reminds me to question where I’m placing authority.

I’m deeply grateful for that mirror. And yes, it can be triggering!

This was no exception.

Her questions didn’t derail the experience but they did shift it. They brought me back to something essential: outside guidance can be supportive but intuition must come first.

What the Body Revealed

Physically, the experience was challenging but clarifying. I felt cold, tired and weaker than usual.

At the same time, my mental and emotional state was surprisingly steady, calmer in fact than it had been in the days leading up to the reset.

Warm baths and rest helped as did nourishing beverages and even some extra fat which I snuck in for grounding.

However, what stood out most was the absence of sensory input which for me, has been a backbone of my culinary artistry all these years.

Liquid nourishment lacks that delightful texture and color contrast that lights me up. Food isn’t just fuel - it’s how I ground, regulate and feel at home in my body.

Why I Ended After 24 Hours

After a full day, my body made a clear, calm request: it was time to anchor into something familiar.

Soft scrambled eggs. Lightly buttered sourdough toast. Warm winter vegetables.

While I ate slowly and mindfully, my system relaxed immediately. My temperature stabilized and I drifted off to sleep easily that night.

Ending after 24 hours wasn’t a failure. It was discernment.

My Virgo placements obviously struggle with this statement but now I can mostly trust my body over my mind's ramblings.

The reset had already done what it needed to. Pushing further would have crossed from listening into overriding.

A Grounded Takeaway

This experience reminded me that:

  • There is no single right way to engage with spiritual or cosmic moments.

  • Practices like fasting can be powerful but only when adapted to the individual.

  • For me, receptivity doesn’t come from emptiness. It comes from safety, warmth, and presence.

  • Instead of asking "Is this true?", I can powerfully shift the question to "Is this true for me?" and become a devoted listener to myself.

The New Moon, the passage of 3I Atlas and the Solstice all marked something meaningful, not because I endured, but because I listened more closely.

May you always lead with your own body wisdom.

xx Kris
