Embracing the Energy of the Lion's Gate Portal

This post was originally meant to be shared last year on August 8th at the peak of the Lion's Gate Portal that lasts from July 28 to Aug 12. The Lion's Gate is a beautiful cosmic event where Earth aligns with the Sun in Leo, Orion's Belt and the star Sirius, creating a powerful synergy and a gateway for transformational change.

Lion's Gate...commemorates our alignment with the Sirian system and reminds us of the soul blueprint we left in the Sirian Mystery Schools before coming to Earth. It's not about one day; it's about remembering who we are and why we came." -- Kerry K.

As I revisited this draft, I felt a warm sense of connection to its message. It resonates just as deeply a year later, reminding us of the continuous flow of energy and opportunity that holds us in these evolutionary times.

Reflecting on the Journey of 2024

I can hardly believe that we are gliding into the second half of 2024, a single year that has felt like lifetimes. Wouldn't you agree? The energies are moving at quantum speeds and time feels ungraspable. The astrology has been intense this year and will continue to support our ascension as we move forward.

Many have called 2024 the transition year as we close out one way of being that started in 2020, moving into the second half of this decade where breakdown and creation will occur simultaneously. More souls are awakening to the current realities of our planet and our role as spiritual beings living an incredibly crucial and perfectly timed earthly existence.

The Significance of 8 in 2024

According to Numerology, we are completing the 8th year of a repeating 9-year cycle in our collective. The component numbers of 2024 come together as 2 + 0 + 2 + 4 = 8. Each number corresponds with the Major Arcana in Tarot, and 8 reveals the Strength card (as depicted in the image below in the Light Seers deck by Chris-Ann).

The number 8 also initiates an important 3-year cycle that transitions us from a period of harvest and outward manifestation to composting and death in the 9, leading to eventual rebirth in the 1.

We have just been initiated as a collective into this period of deep transformation, evolving from water nymphs to dragonflies. We're also traversing through the Lunar Year of the Dragon (until Feb 2025) so this fierce, fiery energy feels relevant and true.

The Strength Card's Message

If we look closely at the Strength card, we see a gentle power embodied by a half-woman, half-lioness, caressing a lamb while wearing a pure, white dress with a large heart pendant resting over her actual heart chakra. The zodiac constellation of Leo in the background speaks to the boldness, courage, heart-centered leadership, and high visibility of Leo placements in our charts.

The sense of fierceness and resilience is present here, reflecting my own life experiences. The challenges I've faced, as painful as they've been in the moment, have all led to enormous breakthroughs.

A feminine, heart-based strength is key: following one's heart and intuition, even when it goes against the norms. This is a quality I've embraced more recently as I've found the courage to speak up, set loving boundaries, and say no more often. I've also become unafraid to voice new viewpoints on the blog, delving into more esoteric topics about consciousness, astrology, and our planetary evolution.

The figure in the Strength card represents unity, the balance of male and female energies, and the flowing cycles of life, death and rebirth. Ultimately, it's about harmony and oneness.

The infinity symbol on the figure's forearm inspired me to get that symbol tattooed in a place I can see often, reminding me of its significance as I use my hands and catch glimpses of it in the mirror.

There is a beast inside each of us, and we must learn to tame it with LOVE. This points to the emotional work of carrying, supporting, holding space, and listening—the feminine values—not just the strength of muscle and force.

The principles of the Strength card have played out throughout the year, asking us to embrace our inner power and find that place of utter calm in the eye of the storm. We are encouraged to resist the chaos of the outer world as it continues to break down.

Just as the lioness can hold sacred space without being tempted by a lamb, we too can tune into our peaceful inner world without succumbing to demands, restrictions, or conditioning placed upon us.

Embracing the Future

Let us continue to nurture this trust in ourselves and remember that we have all we need within if we look deep into our wise hearts. May we carry these bold yet gentle energies into the coming year, using them as a foundation for resilience as we encounter more personal and collective events that are ultimately for our highest and best good.

Blessings on this most sacred 8/8,

xx Kris
